Brooks & Dunn have another huge hit on their hands with “Cowgirls Don’t Cry,” and the guys set a record this week when the song became their 41st Top 10 hit! Brooks & Dunn now move past the legendary Alabama to become the duo or group with the most Top 10 country hits in the modern era of chart recordkeeping! And with all those hits under their belt — and more to come — Kix and Ronnie never run short of great material to sing in concert, and they say that getting out on stage is still at the top of their list of the coolest things ever. Ronnie laughs, “We’re goin’ out there to have a good time, not to work!” But to look out and see the fans really getting into the show, Ronnie says, “That’s a big rush….I don’t know anything that’s more fun.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- Kix and Ronnie originally recorded “Cowgirls Don’t Cry” as a straight-ahead Brooks & Dunn song for their Cowboy Town album, but the version you’ve been hearing on the radio is a special radio single where the guys invited their buddy — and song inspiration — Reba McEntire to join them. Now, that radio version with Reba is about to be available to fans for the first time when it’s released as a digital single on February 10th!
- The Cowboy Town album also includes the hits “Proud of the House We Built,” “Put a Girl in It,” and “God Must Be Busy,” the song that recently earned the guys a GRAMMY Award nomination!
Brooks & Dunn say there’s nothing like being on stage. (:20)
Ronnie: “Up there on stage, I mean, it’s…we’re goin’ out there to have a good time, not to work! (laughs) We got in this business not to work! (laughs) We had a problem with that! And you look out there and see people just goin’ nuts, rockin’. I mean, it’s…that’s a big rush. Big rush. And a great time. I don’t know anything that’s more fun. Do you?”
Kix: “Nah.”
