Carrie Underwood has a brand new holiday single — it’s the traditional Christmas carol, “Do You Hear What I Hear.” And for Carrie, it’s the classic hymns and carols that always put her in the holiday mood. “I’m a very traditional person,” she says, “I love traditional Christmas songs…it’s what makes me think of Christmas.” This year, Carrie has her own holiday recording — a five-song Christmas disc packaged inside her Carnival Ride album. The two-disc set — available now, exclusively at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club stores — includes Carrie’s recordings of “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” “The First Noel,” “O Holy Night,” “What Child Is This,” and “Do You Hear What I Hear.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
Carrie Underwood loves traditional Christmas songs, like her holiday single, “Do You Hear What I Hear.” (:29)
“When I think of Christmas, you know, I’m a very traditional person. I love traditional hymns. I love traditional Christmas songs. It’s just…it’s what makes me think of Christmas. So I like to keep everything very, you know…just the things that I grew up with, and you know, I want other people to hear songs like that, and I want them to think of Christmas, too, so that’s why I picked the songs that I picked: because I wanted to get into the Christmas spirit the only way I know how, and that’s with very traditional Christmas songs.”
