Brad Paisley is red-hot on the road and on the charts…and as his latest fan-favorite, “Waitin’ on a Woman,” sprints up the country radio Top 10, word arrived this week that Brad will be releasing a new album in November called Play.  The project continues some Brad album traditions — like funny business with Little Jimmy Dickens, and the inclusion of a gospel song — but one tradition takes center stage, and that’s Brad’s amazing guitar playing. The album will have four songs with vocals, and every one is a special event, including tracks with Keith Urban, B.B. King, Steve Wariner, and a song that Brad’s hero and friend, the late Buck Owens, had begun, and that Brad finished for the album. It’s a record that’s all about great pickin’…and it was a fun adventure for Brad, in part because he says, “I had no idea, honestly, when we started it what it would be.” Brad got together with some of his favorite writers and let the creativity flow, trading ideas, being adventurous, and coming up with something that’s different…and yet totally Brad, all at once. It’ll be easy to remember when to look for the album — Play will be out on Election Day, November 4! (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

“I’m ecstatic about it…it’s…I had no idea, honestly, when we started it what it would be because, unlike a normal album where I have all these songs prepared before we go in and record, it’s kind of like, the week before, I sat down with some writers that I write with and said, ‘How ’bout if we just did this?’ And you…it’s like, ‘I like this groove,’ ‘I do, too – let’s do that,’ ‘Okay, well, we need one of these.’ There’s some really exciting things. The criteria that I did was it needs to be the kind of thing I wouldn’t necessarily cut on a regular record, but ahhh, whatever.”
