Miranda Lambert is smokin’ the charts again this week, as she continues climbing the Top 10 with her smash, “Gunpowder & Lead.” And to enjoy the kind of success she’s having — and the kind of support she feels from her fans — is something she truly, truly appreciates. Even though her first album, Kerosene, became a million-seller, Miranda remembers her first few singles only being modest chart hits…which is why having her fans stick with her has meant so much. She tells us it would have been easy in those early days for people to say, “Well, she’s not gonna be anything. Let’s go on to the next.” But Miranda says, “They’re the ones callin’ the radio stations, and they’re the ones tellin’ their friends, ‘You have to get this record.'” And with her latest album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, now a Gold record — and the ACM Album of the Year winner — Miranda continues to justify their faith in her. “They’ve just been awesome,” she says, “I have the best fans.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- “Gunpowder & Lead” is the second big hit — following “Famous in a Small Town” — from Miranda’s current album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
Miranda Lambert says her fans have stuck with her through thick and thin. (:26)
“They’re the ones callin’ the radio stations, and they’re the ones tellin’ their friends, ‘You have to get this record,’ and they tell me they tell their friends that, and they’ve sat with me through…you know, people could lose interest ’cause it’s so fleeting, you know? And the first two songs I ever had out only went to like, late to mid-twenties, and so they could have easily, ‘Well, she’s not gonna be anything. Let’s go on to the next.’ And they’ve just been awesome, they have stuck by me and bought my records and, you know, voted for me on things, and I do…I have the best fans.”
