Brad Paisley has the most popular new song at country radio this week with his single, “Waitin’ on a Woman” — and even though Brad didn’t write it, it’s a song that’s filled with things that are important to him. “I am a big, big, big believer in just respecting your elders and learning from them, and this is a song that is all about that,” Brad says. The lyrics — about an older gentleman sitting on a bench, sharing a lifetime of memories about the lady he loves — portray a relationship where everything has always been “worth the wait.” And his willingness to wait — in lines like “So when it finally comes my time/And I get to the other side/I’ll find myself a bench, if they’ve got any/I hope she takes her time, ’cause I don’t mind/Waitin’ on a woman” — make the song a portrait of a classic romance. As Brad explains, “Being patient in his life with a woman who deserves it, then going on to the Great Hereafter…sitting on a bench in the middle of nowhere in Heaven, waiting, is just as romantic as it gets.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

“I am a big, big, big believer in just respecting your elders and learning from them, and this is a song that is all about that, and the advice, and the romantic notion of the man going on…first of all, being patient in his life with a woman who deserves it, but then going on to the Great Hereafter with the same — exhibiting the same patience — sitting on a bench in the middle of nowhere in Heaven, waiting, is just as romantic as it gets.”
