Chris Young is gearing up for the release of his second album (expected to be in stores later this year), and he’s giving fans their first taste of what’s to come with his new single, “Voices.” Chris is thrilled about the song and the upcoming CD — as he explains, “Every album is kind of like a snapshot in time of where you’re at, and I think that this one took longer to develop, so…it’s a better snapshot.” Much like the storyline in “Voices” — all about family and friends whose words of wisdom come to shape your life — Chris’ songs carry the echoes of his musical influences, too, though the certainly have a stamp that’s all his own. “We were able to do some really cool things with this record,” he tells us. “It’s definitely a representation of who I am and what kind of music I like.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
Chris Young says that taking his time on his upcoming sophomore album has made it a better reflection of him. (:22)
“A lot of people have said this, but I think it’s true, you know: every album is kind of like a snapshot in time of where you’re at, and I think that this one took a lot longer to develop, so it’s more of like…it’s a better snapshot, you know? It’s just one of those things that we really captured. Even from song to song, we captured so many things on this record without makin’ it scattered. I mean, it’s definitely a representation of who I am and what kind of music I like.”
