Gavin DeGraw is decking the halls this winter with A Classic Christmas, a six-song project showcasing his bluesy, soulful take on holiday standards, out now.
“So some people asked me why I decided to make a Christmas record. I’ll sum it up for you reason is, I did it for the money. I’m just kidding. The reason I decided to make a Christmas record is because maybe my favorite record of all time is actually a Christmas record, well it actually is called White Christmas by Bing Crosby. Now I don’t know if I’m allowed to promote somebody else’s record. But I’m gonna tell you right now, it may be the greatest record ever made Bing Crosby’s White Christmas. I love it. I listen to it all year round. That’s why I decided to make a Christmas record. I happen to love classic Christmas songs just got a special place my art makes me feel like I’m with my family whenever I put it on. So I made one hopefully you guys gravitate towards as well. With timeless yuletide ballads such as “Silent Night,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and “The Christmas Song” alongside merry tunes “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” and “White Christmas,” the collection, produced by Steve Greenwell, encompasses the spirit of the season.
DeGraw will perform selections from A Classic Christmas and more during his residency at Café Carlyle inside the Carlyle Hotel in New York City.
