“Hey it’s Corey Kent and this is my song Man of the House.”
“My new song Man of the House is one that I wrote really from like a therapeutic place. I really didn’t have any intention of writing the song either. It just kind of- it just kind of happened. And I’ve never had to fight back tears while writing. I mean, I had to take multiple moments, you know, take a step outside and recollect myself to be able to finish writing this song. And that’s never happened before. I just wrote this song about my relationship with my mother. And, you know, obviously, we’re very close. We’ve been through a lot together. And I never anticipated people connecting with it in the way that they have. I mean, the thousands of stories that we’ve heard back based on just the demo, just really powerful. And I’m so excited to put this out and let people hear it and really connect with it. I think the second verse is where the money’s at.“
