So Land of the Free was the first song that Steve Jordan and I tracked. You know, it’s the first song that I ever really cut a vocal to on a record. And I really learned how to sing on that song, you know, we must have sang the song probably 60 times in Lafayette, Louisiana. And it’ll always be a really special song to me for that, for that reason alone. It’s the first song on the record that we did. So the song really picks up where the blacktop ends and people’s lives are defined, you know, sometimes for better or for worse, it’s a deep song and you know, I didn’t fully grasp the magnitude of it until much later on whenever it sets in. I think when people hear it, you know, it does have a deeper meaning to it, but it just takes a while to set in for some people and it did for me at least. But it’s a really special song to me because it was the first song that I ever I ever recorded.
