“Hey it’s Corey Kent and this is my song How You Know You Made It.”
“In the music industry, we spend so much time trying to quote unquote make it that sometimes we forget about the things in life that really matter. Sometimes we take those things for granted. And that was my story. I was living in Tennessee trying to write songs for other people, thinking that was my dream job. And it turns out my dream job is playing that music for people. And I was so wrapped up in trying to make a name for myself that I wasn’t enjoying and appreciating my wife and my baby girl, and the things in life that really means something to me. And so this song is just a reframing of the mindset and a relisting of my priorities. And a reminder to me about the things that I care about most. This is called How You Know You Made It.“
