ADAM DOLEAC PERFORMS AT OFFICER MEMORIAL SERVICE AT U.S. CAPITOL (AUDIO)

Adam Doleac – Commentary on performing at Officer Memorial Service (AUDIO)
We played a show in Washington DC on the tour. But that morning I actually got to go play for the police force, the honor guard. It’s a ceremony they do every year for the families of the fallen police officers of the previous year. So it’s right there in front of the Capitol it was a really really special, really cool but also really sad obviously thing that to be a part of. You know, you’re playing to about 10 or 15,000 people and you know that everybody in the audience is there because they lost a member of their family on duty. And so like I said, it was incredibly special ,tough to get through ,I played my song Everybody Needs Somebody which is a little older song but a pretty emotional one. And so you kind of have to try not to catch the eyes ,make too many eye contact with the with the family members. Because you know, you’ll lose it and start crying. And it was it was something that to be honest with you I didn’t know exactly what I was walking into. But when I got there you realize really quickly what a big moment you’re walking into. And I was really glad I got to be a part of it and hopefully could bring a little bit of joy to some people feeling some pretty tough things.

About Adam Doleac:
Hattiesburg, Mississippi native Adam Doleac’s high-gear drive has made his life a journey with many destinations, from stadiums as a baseball star to Music Row as a hit songwriter — the mainstage, however, may be his final stop . He attended the University of Southern Mississippi on baseball scholarship after turning down a full-ride scholarship to play golf at a different university. It was at Southern Miss where Doleac became impassioned with music; writing songs with teammates and learning to play guitar. After he began playing hometown gigs, Doleac posted a performance of one of his songs on YouTube. The visual accrued millions of views and caught the attention of Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Now, a co-writer of songs recorded by stars such as Kane Brown, Gabby Barrett, Darius Rucker, and Hootie and the Blowfish, and equipped with two No. 1’s on SiriusXM’s The Highway for his own hits “Famous” and “Another,” he continues to stake his claim as one to watch in Nashville. With his latest tracks, the spontaneous “Somewhere Cool With You,” the ultraromantic “Coulda Loved You Longer,” and the infectious pump-up anthem “Key to the City,” his music can’t be confined to a single box any more than his talents. Dubbed “the hero country needs” by Popdust , he has toured with Carrie Underwood, Kane Brown and Zac Brown Band, among others. Doleac’s music has been described by Rolling Stone as “anchored not only in the trends of Top 40 radio, but also the blue-collar grit of Bob Seger and the bluesy influence of his Mississippi hometown.”
