NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Sony Music Nashville powerhouse vocalist Nate Smith shared a new choir version of his song “I Don’t Wanna Go To Heaven” on Friday. Joined by the Nashville-based Echelon Choir, the song is an ethereal take on the original, which was released late last year. Listen here and watch the video here.
“I was inspired to do a choir version of this song after seeing a video on YouTube of a band called Amber Run. They did a similar concept in a church, and I thought that it really made the song come alive,” said Nate. “It was incredible to work with the Echelon Choir. I was blown away by their talent.”
Written by Nate and Daniel Fernandez, “I Don’t Wanna Go To Heaven” made waves upon its release, collecting over 2 million total on-demand streams in its first week. The success of the song contributes to Nate’s surpassing of over 100 million career streams, which he achieved this past week.
Lauded for his “gripping, story-filled songwriting style and emotion-packed vocal chops” (Country Now), Nate was singled out as a 2022 Artist to Watch by Country Now, Country Lifestyle Network and PopWrapped.
