Mitchell Tenpenny: Well, obviously the song has been out for a minute but I’ve been a big fan of Danny (Gokey) for a long time his voice is incredible and just what he brings to the Christian community as well as is extremely powerful. And so, this song meant that to me, and I thought there was nobody else that could do it any better than Danny. And honestly, we didn’t know each other we kind of met maybe once or twice and I called him up man I’m very honored that you’re on this because you’ve completely changed us all. You made it so much better and I just I’m very grateful man. Thank you so much.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Riser House/Columbia Nashville #1 hitmaker Mitchell Tenpenny enlisted the help of Grammy-nominated performer Danny Gokey to record a new version of his smash hit “Bucket List.” The two powerhouse vocalists, who connected through a mutual friend, spar it out on the refreshed track available today. The song, written by Mitchell, Chris DeStefano and Laura Veltz, was originally released one year ago on New Year’s Day 2021. The singers carved out time from their busy schedules this month to shoot a music video for “Bucket List” at the Melrose Church at Fiddlers Grove in Wilson County, Tenn. The film was shot with Director Tristan Cusick. Watch it HERE.
“‘Bucket List’ is about trying to live everyday like it’s your last. You never know how long you have on this earth, so you need to try and live it to the fullest,” shared Mitchell. “I’ve been a big fan of Danny’s for a long time, his voice is so incredible. And even though this song has been out for a while now, I felt he could bring the song to the Christian music community, and I knew no one else could do it better. He’s completely changed this song. I’m honored and grateful he would do this with me.”

Later today, Mitchell will headline the Capital One Orange Bowl Fan Festbefore the 2021 College Football Semifinal game at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
