So when it comes to my song, Raised Up, I think a lot of people are going to interpret it in different ways. There’s just a lot of different visuals that happen throughout the song that may remind you of something when you were growing up, or not. And for me, you know, my mom was was the person that really got me into church growing up. And that was something that really impacted my life. And music was always around and those kinds of things. So the song just means a lot to me, because it really stirs up those emotions again. And I remember the day I wrote it with Trannie Anderson and Jonathan Smith, we were writing the song and as dramatic as the sounds, I literally had to leave the room because I was so upset during the write and I didn’t really know why, you know, and so I came back out, I was trying to sing the song and I’m like, I gotta go again. Oh, my gosh, and I’m just, like, all teared up and everything. And we finished it and I’m driving home after we finished the write and I just, I just kind of realized that, you know, I just feel like, you know, I was just I don’t know how to sense of gratefulness for everything for my parents for everything they’ve done for me and just I’m glad they got me in church, you know, at least kept me sort of, you know, grounded to some degree. But uh, yeah, I think I think the song could be special and I think I really hope that it resonates with all of you and in some way or another reminds you of the you know, where your roots are, and, and what can anchor your life.

“Hey, it’s Nate Smith. You just heard my new song, Raised Up.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Sony Music Nashville has announced the signing of acclaimed country singer-songwriter Nate Smith today. To celebrate the milestone, the powerhouse vocalist has released a new emotive track, “Raised Up.” Listen here.

In the new song written by Nate along with Trannie Anderson and Jonathan Smith, he reflects on finding his way back to the things that ground him when life gets chaotic.

“The day we wrote it, I had to leave the room because I was tearing up,” Nate said. “The song talks about ‘Any time I lose my way, I turn the way I was raised up,’ and for me, whenever I’m lost or feeling alone, I’ve got God. That has really helped me, but it can be whatever somebody needs. It could be thinking about something your grandma said one time you now hold on to, or the phrase you have tattooed on your arm. It’s however you find your way back home.”

“Raised Up” follows several popular tracks from the artist including his poignant “One of These Days,” which he wrote after a wildfire devastated his beloved hometown of Paradise, CA. The overwhelming response to the song inspired him to make the voyage to Music City to pursue his dream of becoming a country music star, prompting a  month-long road trip across the U.S. writing music and playing dive bars along the way.

Soon after his arrival to Nashville, Nate released his biggest song to date, “Wildfire,” and landed a publishing deal with Sony ATV. Since then, he’s released new music including “Sleeve” and “Under My Skin,” which has amassed over 40 million on-demand streams to date. Nate is managed by Kevin “Chief” Zaruk and Simon Tikhman with The Core Entertainment.

With musical influences such as Elvis, Garth Brooks, Bob Seger, Tom Petty and Fleetwood Mac, Nate’s “personal experiences and hardships have inspired his heartfelt songs and honest performance style” (American Songwriter). More than anything, he credits the tangible emotion that’s trademark to his music to his time spent as a worship leader.
Nate spent the past couple months performing for thousands of people while touring with Brett Eldredge and Morgan Evans. The singer was named a Spotify Hot Country Artist to Watch for 2021 – an accurate prediction as he rounds out the year with a record deal and a brand-new song for his rapidly growing
