Story Audio: “To Us It Did”
I first came up with the idea of this song I don’t even remember, like what I was talking about, but I was talking to a friend. And I just remember saying, you know, it didn’t mean anything to them. But to us it did. And like, I just immediately took out my phone and started writing that down because I started thinking about all those parking lot hangs, and all those parties that if you explained to someone else, they’d be like, what does that mean? But to y’all man, everything into my friends and everything. And so I thought about that title for so long. And I held it. And I gave it to Hardy that day and my buddy JORDAN SMITH, and we got in the writing room and all of them were like, Yeah, man, I’ve been there before. We all have those places that mean nothing to anyone else except us and the people that enjoyed it. And so we wrote that song pretty fast because I think it’s something that- it’s very relatable. We’ve all been there. And a lot of people have been there and it was just one of my favorite songs or write, an easy song to write because like I said, we lived it.
