Story Audio: “Gone Too Soon”
“Gone Too Soon” is really about just not being able to have enough time with a significant other or your loved one. It could be your mother, your father, a grandmother anyone and just not having the time that you want to have with them and, you know, just they’re just going a little too soon.

Writing Process Audio: “Gone Too Soon”
“Gone Too Soon” came from a writer’s retreat in early January of this past year right before COVID hit. You know, we had a good buddy of ours, Alex Pennington Smith, put on a writer’s retreat. We got six guys out of Georgia and six guys out of Nashville to meet in the middle in Chattanooga. That’s where gone to soon was born man, it was my first time really in a room with a couple of the guys and it was my first time in a couple of the co-writes I’d only done very few at the time. So I was very nervous to get into the room with these guys just because they were also seasoned. But you know we got into a room we did what we did and we came out with gone too soon. So the writing process on gone too soon, like, I mean, I’ve written songs in an hour and a half that have been really great songs and like gone too soon. I’ve taken 7-8-9 hours, you know, you can’t put a time on something that’s that that you really feel is going to be good. There is no time like you just you’re there until you’re done. And once that song is done, and I mean even if it takes 14 hours once it’s done and you hear the final product and you’re proud of it, that all of it’s worth it.
