Commentary from Rodgers on making the official music video for “Cold Beer Calling My Name”

JR: So for the music video for Cold Beer Calling My Name, I get to be a beer delivery guy, hence the name on my jacket today, which is fun. I got to drive a beer truck today, never done that before, we’re just having fun with it. I’m getting to go in some liquor stores and gas stations, and yeah we’re just having fun with it.

JR: I think for the video of Cold Beer Calling My Name, I think we wanted to just capture like the everyday person. Everybody kinda gets tired of their job I think, I think that’s pretty safe to say. So the video starts with my boss kinda getting on my butt about some stuff, so it ends with a party with the boys, so just having fun with it.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Columbia Nashville/River House Artists singer/songwriter Jameson Rodgers has released the new music video for his latest single, “Cold Beer Calling My Name,” featuring label mate Luke Combs. Watch here.

Directed by Dustin Haney, the clip stars Rodgers and Combs as not-so-hardworking delivery drivers ready for the weekend. Drew Parker and Dan and Reid Isbell also make cameos.

“Cold Beer Calling My Name” has earned more than 23 million on-demand streams and follows Rodgers’ Gold-certified, No. 1 debut “Some Girls,” which was the first of only two solo male debut singles to reach the top of the charts in 2020. The “feel good party song” (Billboard) has been celebrated as “just what you need to crack open a good time” (Sounds Like Nashville) and “blue-collar magic” (NY Country Swag). Country Now praised the single as one of the 11 Best Country Songs of Summer 2020, and Rolling Stone echoed “it’s the escapist chaser that many of us can use these days.”

Rodgers ended the year in the Top 5 of Billboard’s Top New Country Artist chart and has been tapped as an artist to watch in 2021 by The BootMusicRow, and more.
