I got the idea to do the campfire sessions when I was just hanging out at the house one day and I was thinking “you know what? What ‘Good Time’ and what the whole ‘Good Time EP is really all about is about enjoying the simple things in life, hanging out with your friends, you know? Maybe out on the deck grilling, maybe by some water, and maybe by a campfire”. So I thought what if set up our instruments around the campfire but did the songs in like a more acoustically-driven way and got a fire going, make sure you can hear the fire in the recording and recorded the entire “Good Time” EP but around the campfire.” That’s kind of where everything started from. We shot the video at my manager Kappy’s river house, which is here outside of Nashville so that spot is really special to me. I love going out to his place and sitting on his deck looking at the river go by. It’s just a really beautiful, beautiful spot. We shot it at night time so you can’t see the river but we are actually right on the river bank in the videos. It’s just too dark to see the river.
When I think of a lot of my favorite memories growing up, a lot of them have to do with being around a campfire, whether it was with family or friends. There is just something really communal about just all sitting around a campfire and hanging out, talking. I mean there’s absolutely… you’re not doing anything but you’re doing something all at the same time. That’s what’s fun about it. I don’t know, I just like getting lost, looking at the flames, hanging out, especially if it’s a little bit brisk you know? Kind of getting warm by the fire, toasting up some s’mores or whatever, having a cold drink. It’s a good time.

RCA Nashville hit maker Niko Moon has released his GOOD TIME Campfire Sessions EP.
