6 CMA AWARD NOMINATIONS
You know, you never really expect something like this when you move to Nashville. I mean, getting 6 CMA nominations is pretty insane. 2 in the same category is just unbelievable, especially in a category that means so much to me, Song of the Year. And obviously, being in the conversation for Entertainer of the Year for the first time is such a huge deal, and having a seat at the table with Carrie and Miranda and Keith and Eric, people who I view as so far above me in this industry, it’s just an honor. It’s just been a really crazy, crazy day and I’m just really thankful and really humbled.

SONGWRITER NOMINATION
It’s really crazy being nominated as a songwriter for the first time, not only for Song of the Year- I mean we won last year with “Beautiful Crazy” which was a dream come true, but being nominated for a song I didn’t put out myself, the Carly Pearce and Lee Brice duet “I Hope You’re Happy Now” with Carly and with Jonathan (Singleton) and Randy (Montana), is just really cool and kind of a huge moment for me as a guy who moved to town wanting to write songs and wanting to kind of maybe get some recognition for that. So that’s a huge first for me and really excited to see what happens.

ALBUM OF THE YEAR NOMINATION
Yeah, being nominated for Album of the Year is really crazy. I remember watching Eric Church win for “Chief” a number of years ago, and how much I love that album and how much it meant to me as an aspiring artist-songwriter at that time and just thinking, ‘Man, maybe one day I can make something that would even be considered for that.’ So it’s a really special moment as an artist, and to have the deluxe coming out here real shortly right before the awards, it’s just kind of a unique moment for the album and for the guys I wrote with and for Scott Moffatt and for my whole team, so I’m just real proud of “What You See Is What You Get” and everybody that was involved, and looking forward to seeing what happens.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Luke Combs is nominated for six awards at the 54th Annual CMA Awards: Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year (What You See Is What You Get ), Song of the Year (“Even Though I’m Leaving” performed by Combs and “I Hope You’re Happy Now” performed by Carly Pearce and Lee Brice), Male Vocalist of the Year and Single of the Year (“Beer Never Broke My Heart”). Combs—who is the reigning CMA Male Vocalist of the Year as well as Song of the Year recipient—unveiled the nominations on “ Good Morning America” live from Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House. The awards ceremony will be broadcast on ABC Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 8:00pm ET/7:00 pm CT.

The accolades are just the latest in a series of groundbreaking and historic years for Combs, whose current single, “Lovin’ On You,” is No. 1 this week on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. This is Combs’ ninth-consecutive No. 1 single— a first on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart—and extends his record-breaking streak at country radio. Combs also recently made history as the first artist ever to have their first two studio albums spend 25 weeks or more at No. 1  on Billboard‘s Top Country Albums chart—breaking Taylor Swift’s previously held record at 24 weeks. The achievement comes as Combs’ platinum-certified, global No. 1 record, What You See Is What You Get, topped the chart for the 25th time earlier this summer, while his 2017 debut, This One’s For You, has spent 50 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1—tying the record for the longest reign atop the chart with Shania Twain’s Come On Over in 1997.

Moreover, Combs his will release his new deluxe album, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get, October 23 on River House Artists/Columbia Nashville. Pre-order/pre-save HERE. The extended edition will feature all 18 songs from What You See Is What You Get as well as five new tracks. Additional details to be announced soon.
