Story Audio for Maren Morris’ “The Bones” featuring Hozier:
So I’ve been a fan of Hozier’s music for a really long time, ever since his first record. I just fell in love with his voice, first and foremost, cause that’s the first thing you hear of somebody. He just has so much soul and intention in his melodies, and obviously his lyrics are so deep and personal and poetic. He really reminds me of a Jeff Buckley type. And he was just a fan of my song “The Bones,” and it felt like a really organic way to bring two artists together. His voice just fir so perfectly with the tone of that song and what it means. And yeah, I feel so lucky to have him a part of that song.

Maren Morris commentary on “GIRL” achieving number 1:
So when my song “GIRL” went #1, I think, because it was the first single of my second record, it had a lot riding on it, as far as validation goes for me. Because you don’t want to be known as like, the one-hit-wonder or anything like that. So it’s really important to put out a song that meant a lot to me and had something to say and wasn’t just, you know, a song for the radio. I wanted it to be a really well-intentioned message. So the fact that that went up the charts and was my second #1 in my career, I just feel so proud of it.
