BROOKS & DUNN: KIX BROOKS ON COLLABORATING WITH LUKE COMBS FOR HIS NEW TRACK “1, 2 MANY” (AUDIO)
Kix Brooks: Well man, we love Luke Combs. Anytime somebody’s on a run like he’s having right now and every time you see him, he’s got on a Brooks & Dunn hat or a Brooks & Dunn t-shirt, you can’t help but like the guy. You know I love Luke’s singing too, I love his off-the-cuff attitude, I love his kind of “I’m not worried about this” approach to everything he’s doing. I think I can kind of identify with it, and it’s great to see that success. Obviously we had Luke sing on our Rebootalbum, he did a great job and really excited to see that track nominated for a CMA Award. And I guess as fate would have it, Luke just said, “Hey, turnabout’s fair play,” and he sent a song over that he’d written and wanted to know if we’d sing on it with him and so we did. It’s a really fun, rockin’ track, something like we might’ve done back in the day.
