Brandon Lancaster: I can honestly say that might be the most I’ve ever been caught off guard in my life. We had a show that night and we’re in the middle of sound check and our tour manager just said, ‘hey I got a phone call for you real quick someone from a festival your playin just has some questions,’ which already seems really vague so I was already confused. And then I put my guitar up and stopped singing and I just heard this person say this is Carrie. And I thought she said Carrie Underwood but it still, I wasn’t connecting the dots yet, and once I figured out it was Carrie Underwood I kind of, kinda had an idea what was about to happen which sent me into another state of shock and so it was just like a one two punch of complete shock. And then I really just remember it’s like your life your career just flashes before your eyes in this moment and you have all these emotions of thankfulness and gratitude, but honestly in that moment it just turned into being completely speechless and having no idea what to say or how to react but just being incredibly, incredibly thankful.
