Luke Combs & Grand Ole Opry Make Songwriters’ Dreams Come True (Audio)Luke Combs shares about bringing co-writers onstage at Opry:

“It was really cool to perform with some of the guys that I wrote songs with at the Opry the other night.  That was a really awesome experience. And, advice for taking the Opry stage.  I would say definitely drink a lot of water.  Take a chill pill whatever that may be.  Whatever you need for that because there’s definitely nerves every time you step out on that stage.  But no, overall it was an incredibly rewarding experience to get to bring those guys out and have them have their kind of first moment standing on that stage and I’m just glad to be the guy that helped them with that.  And obviously, I’m really thankful for the Opry letting us to that.”

NASHVILLE, Tenn.  –  Multi-platinum singer/songwriter Luke Combs teamed with the Grand Ole Opry to create a rare & matchless moment on the Opry stage Tuesday night. Combs, who debuted on the Opry stage in 2016, chose to honor the collaborating songwriters from his Platinum-selling debut album This One’s For You and deluxe album This One’s For You Too  to step into the circle and perform with him – turning the legendary stage into an unrivaled songwriting round reminiscent of where it all began for these songwriting friends. Several of the writers — Wyatt B. Durrette, Rob Synder, and Channing Wilson—appeared on the Opry for the first time with Combs, while Randy Montana, Jonathan Singleton, and Rob Williford were welcomed back to the stage to perform with Combs on hits they’d co-written.

“We all grew up listening to and loving the Opry,” said Luke. “When I called each writer and told them what was going to happen, it was what the Opry was all about.  We have always been the underdogs, and tonight the Opry fans, the diehard fans of country music, got to see a show that you couldn’t see anywhere else in the world. To see my buddies sing their songs has made tonight one of the most special nights I’ve had since moving here four years ago.”

“When I first toured the Opry after moving to Nashville, I didn’t step inside the circle because I wanted to one day play that stage,” shares Rob Snyder who performed for the first time on the Opry stage on Tuesday. “To be invited by Luke and given the opportunity to do that tonight is the coolest thing any artist can do for a songwriter. To have an artist cut a song is amazing and then to invite you to join him at the Opry? It’s a dream.”

Songs performed last night included Combs’ current single “She Got The Best Of Me” (Luke Combs/Rob Snyder/Channing Wilson), “Beautiful Crazy” (Luke Combs/Wyatt B. Durrette III/Robert Williford), “Houston We Got A Problem” ( Luke Combs/Randy Montana/Jonathan Singleton) and “Must’ve Never Met You” (Luke Combs/Jonathan Singleton/Robert Williford). In addition, Combs took the stage solo to close out the night with smash hits “When It Rains It Pours” and “Hurricane.”

Last week, Combs joined the star-studded line-up on ABC’s “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night To Rock” performing his smash hit “When It Rains It Pours” – the first stadium performance for the three-time No. 1 singer/songwriter. Combs returned to the road with Jason Aldean for the High Noon Neon Tour and made his debut at Madison Square Garden in New York City on August 11th.
