DOLLY PARTON: Second Childhood

Dolly Parton announced last week that she’s releasing a new album this Fall called I Believe In You, which will the first album that Dolly has ever written and recorded for kids and those young at heart.  I Believe In You‘s origin has ties to Dolly’s Imagination Library, as all the proceeds from the album will go directly to the program–which was launched 20 years ago, and has seen 100 million books get into the hands of children, with many more to be helped. Dolly shared about the timing of releasing I Believe In You, “it’s just those things get in the way where your career goes, you’re gonna do a tour and have a real record for the radio to play and all that. So, it’s just one of those things that we do all this stuff for the kids and I write songs for the little playhouse up there (Dollywood) so I’ve been doing it for years we just never had done it and it just seemed like it was the time since I’m getting so old I’m going back into my seconds childhood. So (laughs) I thought, ‘Yeah we’ll do it now where I can still remember it.’”  A digital release of the new album on Dolly Records/RCA Nashville will be available September 29, whereas the physical album will street worldwide on October 13.
