Congrats to Luke Combs on his debut album, This One’s For You, hitting number-one on the album chart! With his number-one song “Hurricane” and his new single “When It Rains It Pours” featured on the album, fans made sure to get their own copy, which Luke amazed at all his recent success, “That’s crazy man, you always hope that stuff is going to happen to you.” Luke shares that while he’s the most visible member of the project, he doesn’t forget that everything was a team effort, “there’s a lot of people who have put a lot of work into making this thing a number so it’s definitely not just me.” And now that the album is number-one, Luke is a little overwhelmed, “I’m just super thankful to have the debut go number one. I heard not a lot of people get to do that and I’m definitely thankful to be in the club.” The announcement of This One’s For You going to the top of the album charts caps a very busy extended weekend for Luke where he split his time performing at two music festivals in Tennessee. Luke kicked off the fun at Bonnaroo on Thursday, and then had events all weekend long at CMA Music Fest. Luke’s efforts did not go unnoticed. The fans showed up in big ways at both events for him, and Rolling Stone featured Luke in their article “CMA Music Festival 2017: 26 Best Things We Saw.”

Luke’s write up in the article reads, “Sunday proved a searing day in direct sun, and Luke Combs took the Riverfront Stage just past noon, but it was standing room only for the fans assembled. Just as it was for his over-capacity acoustic set at the Radio Disney Stage on Saturday. And as it was during his HGTV Lodge set later on Sunday. And as it was earlier in the week at his genre-crossing Bonnaroo debut. (See a trend here?) Opening with new single ‘When It Rains It Pours,’ off his projected Number One country album This One’s for You, Combs commanded the Riverfront audience with his big voice and expert song craft. By the time he got to ‘Hurricane,’ which he introduced as ‘my first Number One song, my first Platinum song,’ the fans were primed. Cell phones raised in hallelujah, the crowd bobbed, pumping fists to his breakout hit. For Combs, this CMA Fest was a star turn of the highest order.”

After reading the article himself, Luke commented “That’s pretty cool, its pretty weird to think about it. It definitely felt super different this year than it did last year. I felt like Justin Bieber or something, at some of that stuff was pretty wild. It cool, I’m just glad that the music is resonating with people because that’s what it’s all about. That’s what as they said in there, the song writing is whats most important to me because without the songs you’re not going to be here. It doesn’t matter if people like me or whatever. If there’s not any good songs there’s not going to be any fans. So that’s what I’m thankful for, that people are finally hearing it and figuring it out.
