OLD DOMINION: How Am I The Dad Here

Old Dominion‘s song “No Such Thing As A Broken Heart” looks at life from the perspective of thinking of how did our parents do their job of raising us, and then what to tell our kids about what’s happening the world. Lead singer Matthew Ramsey can relate to the lyrics in a big way, because even after being a dad for a good while now, he’s still trying to figure it out, “My oldest kid is 10 and ever since she was born, I’ve had moments, pretty much daily where I just kinda look around the house and go, ‘what has happened? How did… how am I the dad here? And what is all this stuff all over my house?’ (laugh)” Remember when you looked up to your mom, dad or anyone older than you when you were a kid, and you thought they knew everything, this is reality that terrifies Matthew as a parent, “It’s scary, especially when you can tell that they think you know what you are doing (laughter).” Well, at least he knows what he’s doing music wise, as “No Such Thing As A Broken Heart” becomes Old Dominion’s most recent top 20 hit!
