KENNY CHESNEY: From Churches To Bars

Kenny Chesney was singing Hallelujah long before he released his album Cosmic Hallelujah. Kenny reveals that the first time that music became a part of his life was in church, “It’s where I heard a three-part harmony for the first time. It’s where I realized that music could have such a soulful emotional impact on someone.” Church is not the only thing that influenced Kenny at a young age, and he even admits that he loved sports and always wanted to be an athlete, “I grew up in an area where sports was a big part of all of our lives. Church, sports and school was all we had and music.” Kenny might not have made it big as an athlete, but that didn’t stop him from getting the chance to perform in some of the largest NFL and college football stadiums. Kenny is scheduled to play at the Tortuga music festival this year where country music fans can expect to hear his latest single “Bar at the End of the World.” For more his tour dates, visit Kenny Chesney dot com or just click HERE.

“When I was a kid, music had such an impact on my life. I didn’t know I was going to be doing this for a living. I didn’t know it was going to be a life path because I wanted to be an athlete. I loved sports. I grew up in an area where sports was a big part of all of our lives. Church, sports and school was all we had and music. The first time I had music in my life was like a lot of people was in church. It’s where I heard a three-part harmony for the first time. It’s where I realized that music could have such a soulful emotional impact on someone. I think it’s totally possible to hear a piece of music without words and still be moved. The idea of that is so beautiful.”
