Miranda Lambert has Grammy nominations for Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song for “Vice.”
Kenny Chesney is nominated along with P!nk for their number-one song “Setting the World On Fire” in the category of Best Country Duo/Group Performance
Also nominated in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance is Chris Young and Cassadee Pope for their number-one hit “Think Of You.”
Carrie Underwood also has a Grammy nomination for Best Country Solo Performance for her number-one song “Church Bells”

“‘My Church’ was inspired when I was on a drive. I feel like a lot of my song titles are inspired when I’m in the car. So, I just wanted to write a song that didn’t feel preachy, but encapsulated that feeling of what I feel is my version of church, which is just driving and being one with the music that you’re listening to on the radio and that feeling with the windows down and just exploring new places. So, that’s always sort of been my version of praying, if you will.”

“If I’m handing my music to someone is never heard me before, I would just say…I’ve put every part of me into this album. I’ve written every song, I co-produced it, it really is everything about me. Genre wise you really can’t lock anything down on this album, it’s cohesive but it’s also all over the place, and it’s just a diverse piece of art, and I feel like there really is something for everyone on it. So, if you love country, if you love pop, if you love soul, you will enjoy this record I hope.”

“I just hope that everybody that hears it can kinda feel like they’re not on an island. That we all have things in our life that aren’t necessary pleasant to talk about, but this song is just honest as you can get about emotions, and letting raw emotions live where they live until you move on to a happier place. It’s kinda the cycle of life, we can’t all be sunshine and roses everyday and sometimes when we’re not we find things that make us feel better at the moment and that’s what a vice is.”

“At its core, I believe ‘Setting The World On Fire’ captures that unique moment when the ‘like’ turns into ‘love.’ And within that I think it captures the energy when you realize everything in your life is about to change and there’s really nothing you can do about it. I also think it captures all urgency that can come with that.”

“I spent a lot of time last fall in California, and one afternoon I drove down the Pacific Coast Highway to the studio where she works a lot, and we spent about an hour working on the song, and it was just magic. I couldn’t believe how great of a singer she really was just, she blew me away and I realize right then that she had a God-given instrument and she was just perfect for ‘Setting The World On Fire.’”

“This is one of my favorite songs that got a chance to record, especially with it being a duet being something special like that that. That doesn’t always mean that it’s going to be this kind of special to other people, and there’s so many people just love the song which is amazing.”

“‘Church Bells’ is…it’s like ‘Fancy”s little sister (laughs). Reba and ‘Fancy’ and she gets out and makes a name for herself by you no finding, she’s got her her dancing dress and all that stuff. This one’s kind of…she starts out, you know, she’s young, she’s pretty, she’s poor. Doing what she can to survive. Meets a man that has a lot of wealth, and it is supposed to take care of her, and get her out of this, and she ends up with him and he ends up not being a good guy and all and it forces her to be strong, and it forces her to do something that she never thought she’d be able to do.”
