“It’s called Revolution by Candlelight because there’s a million candles (laughs) in this small studio, and it’s just me and my guitar player, Scotty, and Aden, my bass player, on upright. And it’s real stripped-down, and it was just this small room with all these candles, and just us, like, as musicians, just sittin’ there, and I was just singin’ the words, you know? It’s not really a performance, crazy, it’s just me gettin’ to be a songwriter for a minute, which I really enjoy, and I want people to see that side of me, you know, and this is a perfect way.”

“The thing I love about country music is I love the authenticity of it. Like, I like how the lyrics are often very stripped-down and just real. And I find it refreshing that there’s not a lot of irony in it, and it’s just, like, straight from the heart. And I also love bluegrass, and I just think it’s…there’s a beauty to it that’s combined with a technical skill that I just find awe-inspiring, and I just…I’m very impressed with the skill level and also with the beauty of the songs.”
