“Hey, this is Miranda Lambert. I just wanted to say huge thank you and tell you how grateful I am to my fans and my friends at country radio for giving me my very first, not only my very first top five, but my first number one. It’s an amazing feeling. It’s a song I wrote, so I’m really proud of it, and I just can’t thank you enough for the support, and hopefully it’s the first of many! Thank you so much.”

“Honestly, we never find out where we’re gonna be goin’ until we get on the plane and they hand us our tour book. And that’ll tell us where we’re gonna be.”

010 HIGHLIGHTS: January" width="16" height="14" />  Danny Gokey talks about making his Grand Ole Opry debut. (:40)
“I was nervous goin’ to the Opry because it’s a place where legends have stood, and they’ve played and performed on that stage, and it’s, you know, it’s the Mother Church of Country Music, so it’s really, kind of in essence where it kind of began right there. You know, where the popularity really started comin’ in a real strong force, and all I know is that I didn’t want (sigh), I didn’t want to mess up. And I didn’t want to disgrace the stage, either, so I tried to treat it with as much respect as I could, and on a same note, I felt like it was affirmation, though, bein’ asked to come to the Grand Ole Opry and sing. And so while I was intimidated, I was thankful that people were…they were recognizing me as a country artist.”

010 HIGHLIGHTS: January" width="16" height="14" />  Carrie Underwood talks about her hit, “Cowboy Casanova.” (:32)
“‘Cowboy Casanova.’ We basically didn’t take ourselves too seriously and wrote this song, and then, it was like, ‘Holy cow!’ Like, ‘What is this? What did we do? This is awesome!’ Just getting it back was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, this is bigger than any of us could have even imagined.’ Everything about this song is so much fun, and it’s so strong and female empowering. Very anthemic…just a lot of fun. And, you know, I got a little sassy streak, and I like songs that get to showcase that.”
