: “The thought of having a 20-year career with this guy, was impossible. I mean, there was no chance that was going to happen. The chance that we might get a record deal, and might get to go record some songs, and possibly have some success, that’s kind of what I was thinking of as best-case scenario. Even to get to tour together, or whatever, seemed like kind of an outside shot. It’s possible, but as things went, it’s like, ‘Okay, you know, you guys got to put a band together.’ And next thing we knew, we had an opening gig with Steve Wariner. You know, we had a couple shows to go do.”
Ronnie: “We just called some buddies. I called a couple of Okie buddies, and he called a couple of his buddies from here, and we threw together a band, and I don’t know what we rehearsed…maybe a couple times, and hit the road.”

010 HIGHLIGHTS: April" width="16" height="14" />  Alan Jackson talked about the honor of getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. (:19)
“I’ve been honored with all the music stuff, you know, and won everything I could, I guess. But I’m a big movie fan, and to think about all the great actors and other music people that are out there, that’s just unreal to me. I guess more than anything, just think about, years to come, my kids — or if I have grandchildren or something — go out there and they can just walk right up there and step right on it.”

010 HIGHLIGHTS: April" width="16" height="14" />  Kenny Chesney talked about his excitement over his movie, Summer in 3D. (:28)
“The coolest thing for me about this film is it really shows the relationship and the love affair that I have between me and the fans. In a way that I’ve never seen it. And what’s really exciting for me is it’s in a way that they’ve never seen it. They never get to see it from my perspective. I’ve always felt like, you know, like even in the middle of a song, I would go, ‘Wow, I wish these people could see what I see, and feel what I feel,’ and they get to now.”

010 HIGHLIGHTS: April" width="16" height="14" />  Backstage at the ACM Awards, Carrie Underwood thanked her fans for helping her take home her second Entertainer of the Year trophy. (:21)
“Hi, everybody. Thank you so much. This is the most amazing thing in the universe. I completely was not expecting that at all, and I’m the most thankful, most lucky person on the face of the planet right now. And I’m so excited and so happy, and thank you so much. You are amazing, and I don’t deserve you at all, so thank you so much. Thank you!”

010 HIGHLIGHTS: April" width="16" height="14" />  Backstage at the ACM Awards, Miranda Lambert admitted she was really happy to win Album of the Year. (:32)
“I really really, really wanted this one. My album…this album is my most favorite thing I’ve ever done basically. I have said that a million times and, you know, it’s so awesome being nominated for anything, but when they said Album of the Year nominees, I leaned over to Blake and said, ‘Man, I really do want this one,’ and you know, I just don’t know what to say, I’m so proud of it. And I just hate that my producers have not got to say anything and we have won it twice (laughs), so maybe next time.” (laughs)
